Parking Curbs and Speed Bumps – Thinking Out Of The Box

Did you know that our parking curbs, speed bumps and speed humps don’t necessarily have to be used for their intended purposes?  We have customers that come up with new & cleverly inventive ways to use these products every day.

For example, you might think that a parking curb is only good for marking a parking space.  However, you can also install them on a loading dock to help protect both the dock and the vehicle from damages. The rubber curb provides a strong, yet pliable cushion when the vehicle makes contact with the dock.  This protects the dock from deterioration, and the vehicle from damages.

How about installing a parking curb on a boat dock?  That’s right, much like installing on a loading dock, installed on the side of a boat dock, a parking curb can provide padding so as the boat makes contact with the dock, the dock is protected and kept in safe and working order, and the boat is safe from damages that can be caused by approaching too aggressively.

Is a speed bump just to slow traffic?  Not to some!  Rubber speed bumps have been installed in factories & airports to cover the cables lying on the floor.  This helps to reduce trip hazards and provides a much safer working environment for the workers there.  Plus, forklifts & other machinery moving about is slowed to ensure that reaction time to potential problems is at a maximum, while accidents were reduced to a minimum.

Speed bumps have also been installed in the assembly line.  Before installation, heavy machinery coming off the assembly line took a toll on the flooring.  Repair costs were through the roof.  After installation, the speed bumps took the brunt of the force and the floor (and the machine) was protected from such heavy impact.  This saved the company thousands in repair costs, and kept the line moving.  No more down time for repairs.

So as you can see, thinking outside the box could open up a whole new set of possibilities for these products.  And see,  Parking Curbs and Speed Bumps are not just for parking lots!
