Speed Bumps – Installed In 5 Easy Steps

Installing our recycled rubber speed bumps is quite an easy task if you’re prepared ahead of time. It takes very little time, and you don’t have to be a professional to do it. All you need is a little knowledge, and the motivation to Do-It-Yourself.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Electric or Pneumatic drill
  • ½” carbide tip drill bit
  • Sledgehammer
  • Broom

These simple tools can give you a professional grade job, in just minutes. Here’s how.

1. Be sure to first post any appropriate signs or warnings for surrounding traffic. Safety is the top priority!

2. Sweep the location of installation first to be sure the road is clear of any large debris.

3. Place each speed bump and end cap section in the appropriate place.

4. Drill through each installation point hole in the speed bumps and end caps and into the asphalt.

5. Drive the supplied rebar spikes through the speed bump until the head of the spike is inside the recess in the top surface of the bump.

Once your installation is complete, you can stand back and admire your work. Adding speed bumps to any area will help to slow traffic to about 5 mph. Most drivers will consider this a deterrent and either slow down, or choose an alternate route. Plus, installing speed bumps will help you have the peace of mind that you’ve raised the safety standards in your area.
