Rubber Humps Tongue and Groove
The rubber speed hump is a modular device designed to be installed in sections. Each section is positioned side by side to create one continuous hump that reaches the desired distance across the road way. Because they are installed in this modular
fashion, they are the perfect fit for any width of roadway; making them versatile and effective. Use just a few pieces to create a short hump in a parking area, or add several more pieces to reach across full roadways.
Rubber Humps are created with a special tongue & groove system which allows each piece to interlock with the next making the entire hump a solid structure once complete. The tongue & groove keeps each piece joined to the next to prevent shifting and lifting. It also helps with installation as well. No need to measure for each section to get the perfect alignment. Simply slide the tongue side of one piece into the groove side of another, and you’re perfectly aligned top to bottom, and front to back; although you do want to be sure the hump is perpendicular to the roadway.
Adding the lag bolt & shield anchors is the final step in stabilizing the entire set into one, cohesive piece. Rubber speed humps can withstand intense traffic conditions and even hold up to commercial vehicles and are much more accommodating to emergency vehicles too. Finishing the ends by adding an end cap will also provide maximum protection to pedestrians by tapering exposed edges. Each of these features work hand in hand to make the rubber speed hump a complete traffic control system suitable for a multitude of areas and uses.
Consider the rubber speed hump the next time you encounter traffic control problems. With a speed hump, you can slow traffic while still maintaining traffic flow. This creates a safer environment for pedestrians and drivers alike. Plus, they’re low maintenance; so once they’re installed, a simple visual check once or twice a year will ensure that you’ve made a good investment.
